Veteran’s Day with Brigadier General Andrew Rohling
Veterans Day at the Harvard Club will be celebrated in a fashion befitting the University’s long and distinguished support of the military. In honor of all veterans, including Harvard’s 18 Medal of Honor recipients, we will begin the night with a patriotic rendition of our Nation’s most hallowed songs, performed by Manhattan School of Music soprano, Raquel Nobile. We will then segue to Club Member and WWII fighter pilot, Joe Ashman ’50, HBS ’51. Joe became a Navy fighter pilot at the age of 19, and flew more bombing missions over the Atlantic and Pacific than he can remember.
Our headline event will feature Brigadier General Andrew Rohling, Deputy Commanding General, 10th Mountain Division. General Rohling is a combat veteran, having just returned from deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan. His honors are numerous, including a couple of Bronze Stars for Valor, a Purple Heart, and every other commendation associated with valor and bravery. He’s an Army Ranger, Parachutist, Scuba and Air Assault specialist.
