Diversity and Inclusion in the Military, with General Terry Adams

  gen-adams

February is Black History Month, and what better way to kick it off, than with General Terry Adams, USAF.

General Adams will talk about diversity and inclusion in the Militay/Air Force, and the challenges facing a person of color in advancing to senior leadership. You will recall that General Brown, the first African-American serving as Chief of Staff of a branch of the military, spoke to our Membership last month. As expected, both Generals work closely together.

Spoiler alert: How did General Adams advance? Hard work and competence. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in CIS from Auburn, picked-up a couple of Masters Degrees in both Business and Organizational Management, graduated from the Kennedy School’s Cyber Security and Policy Program (2020), and in between all that, commanded six AF Squadrons or Groups, three while deployed in Oman, Iraq and Qatar.

African-American military commitment to our Country is long, glorious, and increasingly recognized. We will ask General Adams to begin his talk with a brief history of this service.
