The Wisdom of Finance with HBS & HLS Professor Mihir A. Desai
 

Professor Desai received his Ph.D. in political economy from Harvard University and his MBA as a Baker Scholar from Harvard Business School.  His areas of expertise include tax policy, international finance, and corporate finance.  His work has emphasized the appropriate design of tax policy in a globalized setting, the links between corporate governance and taxation, and the internal capital markets of multinational firms.

Professor Desai believes there is a deep connection between finance and morality—two worlds both animated by the same question: How do we pursue and create value? Through the use of cultural references and case studies, Prof. Desai will set out core principles on which the financial field is truly based.  This game‐changing philosophy urges us to rethink the role of financial statements and concepts in our lives.

Given the recent tax reform (an area of his expertise), Professor Desai will also dedicate a portion of his time to presenting his thoughts, and taking questions, on the legislation.
